How does the timesheet approval system work?

The approval system in GovBooks Timesheets is streamlined yet with enough robust features to handle any size workforce, whether your company is a small enterprise or manages thousands of employees and contractors.

Powerful Selection Filters

Timesheet Approvers view the timesheets of Time Users assigned to them as a member of their Team. Timesheet Approvers can manage more than one Team. Filter by Timesheet View and Payroll Cycle. Select the appropriate date range. Filter by Teams for Timesheet Approvers who manage more than one Team. Select all Time Users, a single Time User, or multiple Time Users. Filter by all Time Statuses, a single Time Status such as Entered, Submitted, Approved, Rejected and Modified, or select multiple Time Statuses. Filter by Project Statuses in the same manner. Select all Charge Codes, Labor Categories, and QuickBooks Online Customers, Sub-customers, and Projects, or select each one individually or on a multiple basis. Save your filtered selections as a View to recall later.

Time-saving Views

After selecting your filters, you can save your View for later recall. You provide a unique name to each View and can save an unlimited number of Views. If you make changes to your filters, you can update your View to reflect the changes without having to create a new View from scratch.

Efficient Time Record Approvals

Unlike many other less robust timesheet systems, with GovBooks Timesheets you have the ability to view and approve Time Records at various levels of detail. Simply by clicking the appropriate button, you can view and approve at a high Summary level by Time User, or switch to a Daily level, and then to individual Time Record level to see all of the details.

Summary View

The Summary View displays the Time Users' hours in total, entered, submitted, approved, rejected and modified.
